Ashley + Dustin = St.Louis Wedding

It is difficult to express in words how much I love Ashley and her family...which now includes Dustin too. Some of you, but not all of you reading this, know that I spent my high school years living in South Africa. Most people assume that my parents were missionaries. X My dad worked for SBC which is now AT&T and when they invested in Telkom over in South Africa my parents thought it would be a good idea to move over there. They were right, but that is a different blog post. All four years of high school I would come back to St. Louis for the 3 months of my summer break. For no good reason, except out of the kindness of their heart they decided to take me into their family and give me a place to live for the summer...every summer for four years. They would probably even let me live their now if I needed to. Ashley's older brother and I have been great friends since 8th grade and he was my way into the Sewell family. I even made the cut to be part of the family vacation tradition of going to Jekyll Island, GA with the extended family so I really do feel like I am part of this family. When you experience unmerited grace and hospitality you are forever grateful. I love this family with all of my heart and getting to photograph this wedding was a true blessing. For the record...Dustin, I love you too.

Meredith + Jim = Murfreesboro Wedding

I know that I say this a lot about the couples I work with, but Meredith and Jim are some of the sweetest and most sincere people that I know.  They are so happy together and even a little rain on their wedding day couldn't keep them from smiling all day long.  After the ceremony they made the journey to Meredith's parents' house in a bad-A rolls royce.  Max leaned out the window and grabbed a great shot of them on the road.  The reception was full of beautiful decorations and amazing southern food which is my favorite.  Meredith + Jim chose The Second Coming Band for their reception.  They are one of the best bands I have ever seen at a wedding.  Not only were they solid musicians, they were great entertainers and really got the crowd involved and pumped up.  If you are still looking for a band you should definitely check them out.  Family and Friends click here to experience the awesomeness of free photo downloads.

Kristen + Taylor = Nashville Wedding

Kristen and Taylor had their beautiful and intimate wedding at Travelers Rest which is Nashville's oldest historic home.  I was excited to shoot there because it is about two seconds from the house that Lacy and I will be moving into in a few months.  It was a really laid back day which I always enjoy.  One thing I learned from this wedding is that I need to start bringing face and head protection for exits using bird seed.  I'm pretty sure Kristen and Taylor are still getting bird seed out of their hair and car.

Kelly + Kyle = Kentucky Wedding

I've been spending more time than usual in Paducah this year thanks to wonderful couple.  And by 'more time than usual' I mean I went to Paducah for the first and second time of my life this year.  Kelly just finished her schooling to become a Physician's Assistant and Kyle is an organic farmer.  They even had some of his homegrown mixed salad at the reception.  The Ceremony was held at the Broadway Methodist church downtown and the reception was held at Kelly's parent's beautiful home.  I loved all the details in this wedding and everything came together to make the perfect wedding for the Farmer and his Wife.

Madison + Jeremy = Wonderful Chattanooga Wedding

I've had a lot of fun getting to know Madison + Jeremy.  I think Chattanooga is beautiful so I was excited about photographing their wedding at Camp Dixie.  I was also excited to hear that Madison had been working on her "smize" (smiling with your eyes).  Personally, I think she nailed it.  We started the day at Madison's mom's salon.  Her mom did her hair which I thought was pretty awesome.  I asked how many times she had done her hair and they couldn't even begin to count.   Their ceremony was held under a giant tree overlooking the water.  The tree reminded me of my favorite childhood story "The Giving Tree."  Everyone was so fun and enjoyable to be around which made for a really laid back day of shooting.  I also got to meet Michael who follows my blog, was shooting video for the wedding, and is a great photographer.  He photographed a wedding at Camp Dixie a few weeks before and helped me out with some of the best locations.  Madison + Jeremy congrats on your new life together.  I am so excited for you guys!
