Chandler Oaks Barn was the perfect place for Rachel and Alex's gorgeous and incredibly fun wedding day! I first met Rachel about 3 years ago when she was a bridesmaid at Aubrey and Nathan's wedding who are dear friends of her and also happen to be incredible people too. I was so excited when I got an email from Rachel because I knew it was going to be an awesome wedding full of wonderful people. I was right.
Bryan's brother Andrew is one of my best friends and I've know their family for years. They are in fact, my family.
One of my favorite things about shooting weddings is when I get to work with families for a second, or in this case, third time. I develop really strong experiences with families on the wedding day, but unfortunately, I don't always get to see them again if they live out of town. Luckily, this is my third wedding with this amazing family.
I had been excited about this wedding for a long time because I knew it was going to be a blast...and boy was I right. Katy and Trey are so much to be around! I basically just had to follow them around with my camera and let the magic unfold.
Even hours of rain couldn't keep the smiles off this beautiful couples face. It was such an honor to photograph Callie and Hunter's wedding at Graystone Quarry. Rain at a venue known for it's amazing outdoor spots, can make it challenging as a photographer, but having a beautiful laid back couple to work with made my job incredibly easy.
I can't think of a better way to roll out of 2016 then getting to photograph Sara and Lance's wedding. I've know this amazing couple for several years. They are some of the most genuine and generous people I have ever met in my life.
I didn't get to meet Meg and Andrew in person until I arrived in Wyoming for their spectacular wedding weekend, I soon realized how amazing these two individuals are after spending a few minutes with them.
Here are 7 things I've learned from shooting 250 weddings.
Evy and Donnie are such a fun couple! I started to lose count of how many weddings I’ve photographed where Donnie was a groomsmen or guest. All that to say I was so excited to hear from him and meet his sweet finance’ Evy.
I first met Esther when she was a bridesmaid at one of my favorite weddings ever in Antigua, Guatemala. I couldn’t have been more excited when she reached out to me about shooting her wedding in Tennessee at Long Hollow Gardens! I was so curious to meet her fiancé because I knew he was going awesome.
It was the perfect summer day for Brooke and Daniel’s wedding at the beautiful Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory. The day was full of laughter and happy tears. Brooke looked absolutely stunning in her dress.
Not gonna lie…I wish it had been about 15 degrees cooler, but none the less I had an awesome time getting to spend the evening with Rachel and Ben. I love spending as much time as possible with the couples I get to work with. I’ve been looking forward to this session ever since we got to hang out at Rachel and Ben’s favorite restaurant and get to know each other over 1…maybe 2 old fashions.
Katie and Ryan had their beautiful wedding at Cedar Hall which is a gorgeous venue located in Bartlett, Tennessee. We had some crummy weather for most of the day but luckily the rain cleared up in time for some outdoor portraits and more importantly the ceremony.
Billie promised me a few years ago that if she ever got engaged she would give me a call. She is a woman of her word. Billie has an amazing group of friends and has been a bridesmaid and guest at several of the weddings I have been lucky enough to photograph.
I feel like I blinked my eyes and 10 years went by. May 1st of 2009 was when I officially left my job as a Youth Minister and jumped full steam ahead into my career as a full time photographer.
I had such a fun time with Julia and Murray on their engagement session here in Nashville. I love it when couples are crazy about each other and just start doing cute stuff right off the bat.
This was one of the most fun weddings I have ever photographed. Francie and Tom are two absolutely amazing people who know how to throw a great party. The entire wedding weekend was full of laughter and happy tears.
It’s Miller Time! The perfect slogan for this epic wedding. Sara and Hanlon are such a sweet and thoughtful couple that also know how to throw one heck of a party. It’s obvious when you spend time with them that they have a deep love and respect for each other.
It was almost exactly 5 years ago when Morgan was a bridesmaid at a wedding I was shooting and made the comment, ‘If I ever get married you will definitely be my photographer.’ She is a woman of her word. It’s always fun when I get to shoot a wedding where I know a lot of the wedding party and guests because it kinds of turn into a mini reunion.
I first met Coco and Luke over burritos which is the perfect start to any relationship in my opinion. This couple has an amazing love for Jesus and it was awesome to hear how God knitted them together over time as they grew as individuals and then as a couple.
I met Hailey several years ago. She happened to be working at the Parthenon here in Nashville. I happened to be shooting a wedding during one of her shifts. She some how became familiar with my work and was nice enough to introduce herself. I had no idea that several years later I would get to capture her and JD’s wedding day at Tuckers Gap, but I am so thankful I did.
Rachel and Greg are so sweet and laid back which makes for a perfect wedding day. It doesn’t take long to see how crazy these two are about each other. It definitely made my job easy when it came to taking photos. I am so excited for these two wonderful people and am so glad I got to photograph such a special day.
I love Kelsey and Nik’s story because it is totally a ‘Nashville story’. It all began while they were both living out of state, but came to Nashville separately to have a fun weekend with their separate groups of friends. Towards the end of their last night in Nashville they happened to meet at Honky Tonk Central in the heart of Broadway.
I knew it was going to be a uniquely awesome day when it started with a cigar smoking, A.R. shooting, fun bride. Tatum Acres is a beautiful venue located in Northern Georgia.
There were a few things I had to in preparation for this wedding. Brush, floss, and whiten my teeth. When you are photographing the wedding of two dentists who fell in love, you have to show up with your best smile forward.
Katy and Reid are two incredibly sweet and thoughtful people, and are perfect for each other. Apparently, they are also very lucky because it rained a lot on their wedding day. Luckily, they got married at First Presbyterian church here in Nashville so we were able to make it work until the rained passed through.
I've known Morgan for a long time so I was incredibly excited when I got an email asking if I could shoot her wedding. Her and Aaron are such a fun couple and we had a blast on the engagement session. The only rule was 'no cheesy photos of us kissing while leaning over a fence'. I told her I was confident we could avoid the pose haha.
Morgan and Tee are such a fun couple! I had been looking forward to meeting them in person for a long time because we were only able to get to know each other on the phone leading up to the wedding day…
I first met Brandon when I got to photograph his sister's wedding. His family is one of the most amazing and thoughtful families I have ever met, so I knew that Hannah was going to be awesome too. I was right. Hannah and Brandon are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met.
f you've ever wanted to see what happens when two professional dancers who love Jesus fall in love with each other then today is your lucky day! Cara + Christian had their beautiful wedding at Legacy Farms in Lebanon, Tennessee.
I first met Larry and Delia at one of the hottest weddings I have ever photographed in my life where Larry was a groomsmen. There's even some crazy legend from that wedding that a groomsman, who will remain unnamed, spent every minute he could before the ceremony cooling off in his car with a minimal amount of clothing.
What a blast it was to spend the day with Courtney and Brandyn at The Cordelle. It seems to rain every time I shoot at The Cordelle, but the weather couldn't stop this couple and their awesome friends and family from dancing down the aisle as they entered the ceremony.
If it wasn't for Ashlyn I am pretty sure Gray never would have attended Sunday school at Ethos. She was his safe place in a new and uncomfortable setting. As long as Ashlyn was there we knew we would have an incredibly easy time dropping off Gray on Sunday mornings
Maridith and Michael are such a sweet couple and it was so fun celebrating with all their family and friends. They got married at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ which is great for me because I live just down the street.
