Most of you probably know by now that Lacy and I are having our first kiddo later this summer. We have decided to call this little rascal Gray Burton Wright even though Lacy had a crush on a guy name Gray when she was in elementary school. This photo is from the latest ultrasound. These things can be really difficult to make out if you aren't told what you are looking at, but I think this one has been the clearest so far. Gray just wanted to let us know that he is doing good and everything is going to plan. I think he's fine just chilling inside Lacy for now, but he has been pretty squirmy so I'm not sure how long that will last. According to my grandfather there is a legend of giving a 'thumbs up' in our family. The version of the story that I remember goes a little something like this...
When I was a baby I suffered severe dehydration and had to be hospitalized. I still have a scar on the inside of my right ankle where they put in the I.V. Like you see in the movies, I was laying there in my glass crib and protected by an inner room with a large viewing window when my Grandpa came to check on me from the other side of the glass. He looked at me and I gave him a 'thumbs up' to let him know I was going to be ok.
The legend lives on in my first born...
