Our Time and Our Children are precious. I’ve come to understand that this is the reason why I love photos of my children so much. I can look at a photo from several years ago and immediately be taken back in time. I’m hit with a flood of emotions and memories from that wonderful stage of their life. Even though their bodies grow up, there are deeply rooted parts of their heart and spirit that remain the same. A photo has the crazy ability to capture that essence, and to me, that is priceless.
The Details
When is the next event?
The next event is Saturday, August 17th. Time slots run from 9am - 4pm.
How much is a session?
The investment is $150.00 for each child, the fee includes the session as well as an online gallery of images where you can purchase prints and digital downloads . Payment is easily accepted via PayPal when you book your session time/date.
How long does it take?
Each session is approximately 15 minutes. I’ve learned that kids don’t have that long of an attention span for photo shoots so we work fast to get a variety or shots.
What age of Children do you photograph?
2 years old and older is ideal, but if your child is able to sit up on a stool or in a bumbo seat we can make it happen. Just make sure to bring your own bumbo seat. If you have older children…like teenagers…they of course are welcome and encouraged to attend.
What should my child wear?
Keep it simple. Let your kid be your kid. My youngest son wears pajamas all day everyday as long as we let him. Don’t think about creating the perfect photo but about capturing your precious child for who they are. Avoid fancy clothes, hair accessories, and tuxedos unless of course that is what they love to wear. Let your kids wear clothes they feel comfortable and confident in.
What should I do during the photoshoot?
Every child is different. The important thing is to help me get them focused on the camera. If your child needs you there, then be there, if they are more comfortable and less distracted if you step away, then enjoy a brief break. If you hang around it helps if you are directly behind me so if they are looking at you they are looking at the camera too.
How do I purchase prints?
I love photographs!…they are all over my house. You can easily purchase prints of your beautiful child from an online gallery that will be emailed to you after the session. I have more than 1 kid, can they get a photo together?
If you book multiple kids we will spend a few minutes of the last child’s session to get a group photo.
Are my child’s photos in color or black and white?
Yes! Both styles speak to me, and honestly I have no idea what will look better in your house when the photos are hanging on your wall. Prints can be ordered in BW and I will also convert my favorite images to BW.
What’s with the name ‘little is the Greatest’?
It is inspired by Matthew 18.
“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
There is something incredibly beautiful about the honesty, simplicity, vulnerability, and loving heart of a child.
